Prior to working for insurance company defendants, Mr. Riggenbach worked as a Special Prosecutor for the Virginia Beach Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, where he prosecuted misdemeanor appeals and felonies, and handled revocation and sentencing hearings, pre-trial motions and jury trials. His experience in the courtroom means he knows what judges and juries are looking for to win cases.
“ From the jump, I’m always one step ahead in knowing exactly how the insurance companies will handle things so we can get started immediately in building a winning case.”
Prior to joining Rutter Mills, Riggenbach went on to serve as a defense attorney for several large insurance companies, including GEICO and State Farm. For years he watched a system that was stacked against the common man in favor of these corporate giants. Will left his position as defense counsel to join Rutter Mills. He now uses his unique knowledge of the defense side to help injured clients achieve justice.
While Will is an experienced trial attorney, it is his compassionate nature and “down to earth” charm that clients favor. Easy to talk to, passionate about the law, and dedicated to helping his clients are comments heard most often about Will.
William graduated cum laude from Regent University School of Law. Prior to law school, he attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he graduated cum laude with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Government and one in Classical Studies. During his 4 years of undergraduate studies, Will played football at Hampden-Sydney College. For his successes both on and off the field, Will Riggenbach has been added to the athletic Hall of Fame at Hampden-Sydney.
The Riggenbach family, Will, his wife and two children, live in Virginia Beach. They enjoy spending time outside, hanging out with friends, and taking advantage of all the amazing things there are to do in Hampton Roads. His favorite thing to do outside the courtroom though – getting together with family every “football Sunday” to watch the Raiders play. That’s Will – always rooting for the underdog!
