Serious Auto Accident off Battlefield Boulevard

A serious auto accident occurred on Saturday, December 14th, at around 1:30PM in Chesapeake, Virginia. The accident occurred in the 2400 block of Battlefield Boulevard South. According to Dorienne Boykin with the Chesapeake Police Department, 25 year-old Daniel Stithem, driving a Mercury, was heading south on Battlefield Boulevard. He side swiped a Volkswagen, and then veered to the left. The Mercury hit a Verizon pole followed by a tree. The driver was seriously injured in the accident. There were no passengers. The driver was airlifted by Nightingale to Norfolk General Hospital.
