Georgina Montgomery credits much of her success and award recognition to the valuable experience she gained as an insurance lawyer. She set out to defend people who had made a mistake and protect them from wrongful prosecution. After years in practice, she discovered that insurance work was more about protecting the insurance company’s bottom line than the client’s interest. Montgomery took her skillset to Rutter Mills, where she knew she would be able to help the real victims of accidents who had the odds stacked against them by big insurance. Experience as a defense attorney gave Montgomery the insight she needed to build solid cases for her clients.
“I learned how to cut holes in plaintiff’s cases, find weaknesses, and make arguments to devalue damages. Now, when I approach a case, I still look for problems and weaknesses, but I use that analysis to anticipate where the defense is going to strike and strengthen my arguments.”
